Amplify is a Creative Arts camp open to anyone school year 11 to 25 years and connected to The Salvation Army.

It’s a time to develop your creative skills, meet and form new connections with others and to encounter God in a massive way.

Amplify 2026 is happening from 2pm, Tuesday 13 January to lunch on Sunday 18 January. It’s all happening at Silverstream Retreat in Wellington.

STREAM A

  • Join Chris, Martin and Noah and step behind the lens to learn how creative media can tell powerful stories in the Media Production stream.

    Across 9 hands-on hours, you’ll explore filming, editing, audio, lighting, and visual production—gaining practical skills to help bring services, testimonies, and creative projects to life. From filming music teams and capturing testimonies to supporting church services through visuals and sound, this stream equips you to use media as a tool for ministry.

    Along the way, you’ll create real media projects, with opportunities to share your work around camp and contribute to worship moments. Media Production isn’t just about learning technical skills—it’s about amplifying voices, sharing stories, and helping others encounter God in creative ways.

    This stream will collaborate with Creative Technology to create some amazing resources to be used through the week – or back home at your corps.

  • In the Creative Technology stream, Kase will help you dive into the world of church production—learning the essentials of audio, visuals, and lighting to help create smooth, engaging worship environments.

    Gain hands-on experience with the tools and workflows that bring services to life, from mixing sound to running slides to setting the right mood with lights.

    But this stream is about more than just gear and cables. Together, we’ll explore how creative tech can be an act of service and worship—using your skills to support your corps.

    Whether you’re a seasoned tech or just starting to learn the basics, you’ll find a space where every participant is valued, every role matters, and everyone can contribute to something bigger than themselves.

    This stream will collaborate with Media Production to create some amazing resources to be used through the week – or back home at your corps.

    Be ready to create, connect, and serve in ways that often go unseen—but always make a difference.

  • For the first time, explore the beauty, strength, and spirit of te ao Māori in our Kapa Haka stream with the lovely, Jonas!

    Through waiata, haka, poi, and traditional crafts like harakeke weaving, you’ll connect with the rich cultural heritage of Aotearoa—and discover how these practices can be a meaningful expression of both identity and faith. Whether you’re new to kapa haka or already confident, this stream is a welcoming space where everyone can learn, contribute, and stand together.

    This is more than cultural practice—it’s about creativity, connection, and discipleship, expressed in uniquely Māori ways within Te Ope Whakaora.

    Throughout the week, you’ll have opportunities to share what you’re learning, whether through haka, waiata, or other creative expressions during camp moments.

    With a focus on worship, community, and cultural pride, the Kapa Haka stream is a chance to honour the past, celebrate the present, and carry this taonga into the future. Haere mai—come, join in.

  • Get ready to discover how sport can be more than just a game! In this active, hands-on stream, you'll learn a variety of sports and team-based activities—and explore how these can become powerful tools for ministry in your corps and community.

    Whether you’re a sports pro or just starting out, you’ll find a space where every skill level is welcomed and every story matters.

    Together, we’ll explore ways to create inclusive, engaging moments—like running a game or tournament—that connect people and open doors for sharing faith.

    Come ready to play, lead, and discover how sports can make a difference far beyond the field.

  • Unleash your creativity in the Art stream alongside Victoria and Ella. A space where colour, texture, and imagination come together to tell stories and express faith.

    Explore a variety of art techniques and styles, from painting and drawing to collaborative projects.

    Art isn’t just for galleries—it can be a gift to your community. Alongside personal projects, you’ll work together on a shared creative piece designed to bless others, exploring howCultural Dance Music your skills can be used in your corps, school, workplace, or community as an expression of faith and service.

    Throughout camp, you’ll have chances to share your creativity in spontaneous ways—whether through group art, collaborative chalk drawings, or interactive installations during festival night. You’ll also explore how art can be an act of worship, contributing beauty to our shared spaces and services.

    The Art stream is more than creativity for creativity’s sake—it’s about making something meaningful.

  • Step into the vibrant world of Pacific cultures in the Cultural stream with Mele, Ben and Semi, where you’ll explore the rich traditions of Fiji, Tonga, and Samoa.

    Dive into authentic cultural expressions maybe learning waiata, sasa, traditional games, and crafts that celebrate the unique stories and spirituality of these communities.

    This stream invites participants of all backgrounds and experience levels to gather in an inclusive, supportive space where cultural knowledge is shared, respected, and lived out.

    You’ll have chances to express what you’ve learned through creative offerings at festival night and spontaneous moments during camp, bringing the heart of Pacific culture alive through song, dance, and art.

    Grounded in creativity, connection, and discipleship, this stream encourages you to embrace cultural heritage as a powerful form of worship and identity. Equipping you to carry these treasures into your corps, school, community, and faith journey.

  • Move, express, and worship through the power of dance with Devonte and Elsie!

    In this creative stream, learn the basics of dance. Building confidence, rhythm, and choreography skills along the way. Whether you’re stepping onto the floor for the first time or already love to dance, this is a welcoming space where everyone can grow, contribute, and connect.

    From group sessions to spontaneous dance moments around camp, and potential contributions to worship services, the Dance stream is about more than just learning steps. It’s about discovering how your creativity can move others, bring joy, and reflect God’s heart. Be ready to dance, connect, and worship in new ways.

  • Explore how music connects to worship, community, and personal faith, learning to balance musical excellence with humility and a heart of worship with Dan and team!

    In the Music Stream, you’ll build the skills and heart needed to be part of a music team. Whether you're wanting to sharpen your abilities or just want to experience working in anew team, you’ll learn key techniques, rehearsal skills, and how to work as part of a band—not just as a performer, but as a servant leader.

    You’ll also have opportunities to share what you’ve learned, whether that’s playing background music during lunch, contributing to festival night, or being part of spontaneous creative moments around camp. This stream is designed to help you bring your skills home, equipping you to serve in your corps was you go home from Amplify.

  • Get hands-on and creative in our DIY stream with Tyler and Connor. Where building isn’t just about tools, it’s about community, creativity, and faith.

    You’ll learn practical skills using construction and building materials, gaining confidence in using tools and expressing your creativity in ways that make a difference locally.

    Whether you're a complete beginner or have some experience, this is a space where everyone is welcome to learn, contribute, and create.

    Expect moments of creativity and connection—whether that’s through friendly competitions, collaborative projects, or contributing something meaningful to worship spaces during the week. DIY is more than building structures; it’s about building relationships and discovering how creativity can be part of your faith journey.

  • Join Jonty and the Big Band stream and discover what it means to make music as both skill and service. Across 9 hours of stream time, you’ll grow in your understanding of your instrument, sharpen your rehearsal skills, and learn how to contribute effectively within a band setting.

    But this stream is about more than just music—it's about using your gifts creatively to build relationships and share your faith. From spontaneous serenades to festival night contributions, you’ll find plenty of chances to share what you’re learning in fun and meaningful ways. Whether you're an experienced player or just starting out, this stream is a place where every sound matters, every role counts, and music becomes a ministry that reflects unity, purpose, and a heart of worship.

  • Georgia has a rich testimony and is ready to come alongside as you deepen your faith and discover practical ways to grow spiritually in the Spiritual Disciplines & Prayer stream.

    Explore rhythms of prayer, meditation, and other spiritual practices both individually and in community. Learning how to build habits that nurture your relationship with God.

    This stream invites you to engage creatively with faith, developing skills that you can bring back to your corps, school, workplace, or community. Whether you’re new to spiritual disciplines or have been practicing for years, this welcoming space encourages everyone to learn, share, and contribute from their unique backgrounds.

    With a focus on discipleship and worship, this stream supports your journey to live out faith authentically and creatively.

  • The Youth Leadership stream is designed for young adults stepping into leadership roles, whether at camp, in their corps, or in their wider communities. James and Lauren are leading this stream with a wealth of knowledge and experience in Youth Work.

    This stream focuses on leadership as a lifestyle: building creative skills, forming meaningful connections, and deepening your personal faith as you learn how to lead like Jesus.

    Expect hands-on activities, group discussions, and real opportunities to practice leadership throughout the week—whether that’s hosting a moment during mealtimes, encouraging someone new, or simply showing up as a servant-hearted leader.

    In this space, your voice matters. Whether you're just starting out or already leading, you’ll be supported, challenged, and inspired to lead wherever God places you next.

  • Step into the art of storytelling and discover how drama can bring the Bible to life!This creative stream will equip you with practical skills to craft stories, build short dramas, and engage audiences with the message of Scripture in fresh and meaningful ways.

    Whether you're brand new to the stage or already love performing, this is a space for everyone to grow, contribute, and explore.

    With moments for sharing, creative offerings, and potential contributions to camp worship, Bible Drama & Storytelling isn’t just about learning—it’s about bringing your voice to the story God is telling. Come ready to create, connect, and be inspired.

  • Ben and Jesse are Amplify favourites, and this year they’re leading Discipleship 101.

    Discipleship in the Christian faith is about following Jesus—learning from Him, growing in relationship with God, and living out His teachings in daily life.

    Over 9 engaging hours, you’ll deepen your understanding of the Bible, foundational Christian principles, and what it looks like to walk as a disciple in today’s world. You’ll be equipped to take what you discover back into your corps, community, school, or workplace, and to express your faith in ways that are personal and meaningful.

    Discipleship 101 invites you to build connections, grow in faith, and embrace the journey of following Jesus with confidence and purpose.

  • Discover the art of impactful communication in the Preaching stream with your wonderful tutor, Molly.

    Designed to equip you with practical skills and confidence to share God’s word effectively. Explore what it means to be a dynamic communicator, learning techniques for preparing and delivering messages that resonate.

    Whether this is your first time stepping into preaching or you’re building on existing skills, this welcoming space supports everyone’s growth. You’ll receive practical tips, guidance on biblical interpretation, and opportunities to learn from experienced leaders, ensuring you feel well-prepared and encouraged throughout the week.

    You’ll also have opportunities to practice sharing your voice, through a mini sermon or spoken word at festival night and reflect on how preaching can be a creative and powerful expression of faith.

    The Preaching stream is about more than just speaking; it’s about inspiring hearts, building relationships, and leading others closer to God.

  • For the first time at Amplify, we have the lovely Ana with support from Zemirah and Vanessa.

    What does it mean to stand up for what’s right in today’s world? In the Social Justice stream, you’ll explore some of the key justice issues shaping our communities and the world today.

    Through conversation, creative activities, and practical learning, you'll be encouraged to reflect deeply, speak up, and take meaningful action—both at camp and when you head home.

    Develop creative ways to respond to injustice, build relationships with others passionate about making a difference, and grow in your understanding of how justice connects to your faith.

    This stream will help you discover that working for justice is an act of discipleship. All experience levels are welcome—you don’t need to know all the answers, just be willing to listen, learn, and take a step. Together, we’ll find ways to turn awareness into action and create moments that challenge, inspire, and invite others into the journey.

  • What if hospitality wasn’t just about food or hosting events, but a radical way of living like Jesus?

    In the Outrageous Hospitality stream, you’ll explore hospitality as a biblical calling—where welcome, inclusion, and kindness become powerful tools for connection and ministry.

    Over 9 hours across the week, with Paul and Rachel, you’ll learn practical ways to offer hospitality in your corps, school, workplace, or community—whether that’s hosting a space, offering a listening ear, or creating small moments of welcome in everyday life.

    Along the way, you’ll help create welcoming spaces around camp itself—whether that’s hosting a hangout space, shaping moments for conversation or prayer, or sparking spontaneous acts of kindness.

    Outrageous Hospitality is about creativity, connection, and discipleship, all expressed through the simple but powerful act of making others feel like they belong.

  • Step into the heart of worship leadership in this dynamic stream designed to equip you with both the theory and hands-on experience needed to lead others in meaningful worship.

    Consider what it truly means to create a worshipful environment. Not just through singing, but through thoughtful planning, intentional leadership, and authentic presence.

    Dive into the biblical foundations of worship with Karen, discover what makes a worship leader effective and inspiring, and develop practical skills to lead with confidence in your corps or community.

    This stream encourages you to grow creatively and spiritually, helping you shape moments where people can encounter God deeply.

    This stream is open to you – whether you’ve worship lead before, or you’re just starting to wonder if this might be a way you can express your faith!

  • Faith in Your World is all about helping you confidently and creatively share your faith wherever life takes you — at school, uni, work, home, or with friends.  

    Across the week, you will explore practical tools, creative approaches, and honest conversations about telling your story. Talking about Jesus in everyday ways and living out faith with purpose.  

    Rooted in creativity, relationship, and discipleship, this stream is designed to inspire bold faith that connects with real life and makes an impact in local settings and communities.
